Pop-hop artist and performer Marquette King turns in the hottest new jam of 2020 with his latest single “This Side.” King is highly skilled at mixing the elements of pop music and rap into his own individual sound that’s funky and full of industrial-strength hooks. King also features female artist Annabelle on the track, which only adds to the sweetness of this obvious hit song. Both King and Annabelle flow with precision and authority, demonstrating world-class levels of lyrical skills. Beyond that, “This Side” is simply an excellent song that’s catchy and kinetic. Once you hear it, you’ll remember it. The beat is a body-mover that’s sparse but grooves hard and never gets in front of the track’s mighty vocals.
Sports-minded music fans may recognize Marquette King’s name from his time in the National Football League as a punter for the Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos. Turns out that King has always loved music but put it aside temporarily as his pro football career developed. These days, he’s back on the microphone and going hard to release the finest music of his life. “This Side” is going to light up a lot of people and take King’s name and brand to another level.
