LUKE CRIMIEL “11TH STREET” ALBUM REVIEW - POP VOCAL MASTER!

LUKE CRIMIEL

11th Street

(Bye Bye Records)

By Mike O’Cull www.mikeocull.com

Vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Luke Crimiel flexes some big-time creative muscles on his new release 11th Street. Crimiel has a musical theater background and brings a legit stage voice to his pop material, something few of his peers can claim. His style is rooted in vintage 70s and 80s pop and soul and inspired by the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Frank Sinatra. He’s a technical singer with an impressive range and a strong belt that he puts to excellent use all over the tracks on 11th Street

Crimiel’s songs are consistently well-written and exquisitely performed throughout this smooth and powerful set. From the dramatic atmosphere of the opener “Lost” to the flunked-up vocal showcase of “Nothing Left” to the warm immediacy of “Telephone,” each track is a world of its own. No matter what he applies himself to, Crimiel is fluid, passionate, and right on target. Be sure to also spin “Heart In My Hands,” “Breathe,” and the rock-influenced “Nikki.” Luke Crimiel is one of the mightiest voices to come along in many a moon and he looks to have a bright future. Get with him now and see what all the fuss is about.
