Gvng Green is a two-man hip hop group from Los Angeles composed of the rappers Goddi and StaJe that’s here to spread a message. That message, written large all over their new album Gang Green, is that chasing money is what matters. Instead of focusing on gang violence, territory wars, drugs, and other negatives, Gvng Green pushes the narrative that success is what’s important and what will change people’s lives. Tracks on the record sit on vibe-filled beats with strong, stony grooves and the pairing of StaJe's southern country voice with Goddi's west coast voice gives these cuts more identity than most of their peers.
“Prime” kicks this session off in high style and details the group’s “money on my mind” attitude. The two rappers play off of each other in a smooth and natural way that makes listeners hang out and hear what is up next. “Gang Green” follows and keeps their magic going while dropping equally strong bars. “Geronimo” and “Gangsta Luv” are two more must-experience tracks from this excellent set.
